The City of Yorkton owns and operates a Sanitary Landfill.  It is located approximately two miles northeast of the city.  Landfill operations include site access and fee collection, developing waste cells, compacting waste and finally covering the waste to protect it from the environment.  A scale system is currently utilized for most forms of refuse entering the landfill.

CLOSED SUNDAYS AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS

Please enter no later than 15 minutes before closing to allow for material handling.

Transportation Of Wastes:

No person or persons shall operate any vehicle transporting wastes or other debris of any kind along or over any highway, street, lane, vacant lot, park or public place in the City of Yorkton unless the load is completely enclosed with a securely fastened cover as to prohibit any part of the load on the said vehicle finding its way to the roadway or adjacent premises.
