Dutch Elm Disease Inspections taking place in Yorkton starting Wednesday, July 13

The City of Yorkton has hired Living Tree Environmental Limited to complete a Dutch elm disease (DED) survey during the summer of 2022.
Living Tree personnel will be in our community on July 13, 2022 to identify all American trees with symptoms of DED and contraventions of the provincial DED regulations on public and private lands. Living Tree personnel will collect branch samples from American elm trees that are displaying DED symptoms when possible/necessary and safe to do so.

Road restrictions for Exhibition Parade on Saturday, July 9

Broadway Street will be closed between 6th Avenue N and Dalebrooke Drive from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, July 9 for the annual Exhibition Parade sponsored by the Painted Hand Casino and SIGA.
Dracup will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to allow participants to lineup.
Lane restrictions, barricades and “no parking” signs, will be placed along the parade route.
Drivers are reminded to drive carefully, and watch for participants. The City thanks everyone for their patience.

The following loop will be closed from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7 for the annual Kiddie’s Day Parade sponsored by the Legacy Co-op:
- Smith St between Betts Ave and Third Ave N
- Third Ave N between Smith St and Broadway
- Broadway between Third Ave N and Betts Ave
- Betts Ave between Broadway and Smith St
Smith Street E will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. to allow participants to lineup.
