Smith Street Median, Curb and Sidewalk Repairs

Smith Street will have limited parking between 2nd Avenue N and Myrtle Avenue starting June 7, 2023, for median, curb and sidewalk repairs. This project is expected to take approximately one month, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

“No parking” signs will be placed along the areas affected. Please use caution when approaching a work zone.

York Road Reconstruction Phase 1 Road Closures and Detours Updated Thursday, June 1, 2023

Phase 1 of the York Road Reconstruction project will begin today, Thursday, June 1.

Road Closures along York Road will be extended to 7 Avenue North, with a detour in place on Imperial Street for local traffic and vehicles accessing businesses along York Road.

Phase 1A road closures will continue to be in place for approximately three weeks, with temporary roadway access to Yorkton Concrete Ltd., EECOL Electric, and Quality Tire Service.

York Road Reconstruction Phase 1A set to begin Friday, May 12, 2023

The City of Yorkton has partnered with Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (part of the Urban Highway Connector Program) for the reconstruction of York Road from Gladstone Avenue to Highway 9.

Construction is set to begin this week, and take approximately two years to complete. Road closures and construction will be set up in phases, so that traffic and business disruption is kept to a minimum during the duration of the project.
