Community Conversation Addresses Concerns of Active 55+ Residents in Yorkton

Yorkton, October 3, 2023 – In response to growing concerns within the community regarding the lack of activities for Active 55+ residents, the Recreation and Community Services department of Yorkton is taking proactive steps to address these issues. Fall Street Sweeping to start Sunday, October 1, 2023

Residential street sweeping will begin in Zone 1 starting Sunday, October 1, 2023.

The sweeper will be out in two shifts from 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. and 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

It is very difficult to predict how quickly areas will be swept as conditions vary and equipment breakdowns sometimes occur. If possible, please do not park on the street until you see that your area has been swept. This will help assist us in efficient cleaning. Those frosty mornings will soon be here to stay, along with the items you never brought inside or threw away.  Avoid accumulating car parts, building materials and garbage in your yard.  Keep your household furniture such as couches and beds indoors.

Enter your home in the Fall into Autumn Community Tour

As autumn approaches, decorate your front yards in a fall theme as we say farewell to summer. 

Enter your home address and a photo of your decorations at www.yorkton.ca/fallintoautumn to be included on the City of Yorkton's Fall into Autumn Community Tour Map. 

The tour map will be available to the public the week of September 25 and will be updated regularly.
