City Landfill reopens with detours in place

Landfill Road is now open to traffic. Please use caution while driving in the area as some construction is still taking place.
Update at 2:50 p.m.
The City Landfill has reopened to the public with detours in place. Anyone bringing a vehicle 3 tonnes and over must use the detour to the north, and enter the City Landfill from the east entrance.
If your vehicle is less than 3 tonnes, you can use either the north or south detour to get to the City Landfill.

New traffic and street signs coming to Yorkton as part of the 2022 Street Sign Replacement Program

Starting in June, ATS Traffic Saskatchewan will be replacing 207 faded signs around the city as well as an additional 164 speed zone signs for the school and play zone areas.
Faded signs can cause confusion for motorists, especially ones who are not familiar with the Yorkton area.
Always remember to slow down and watch for signage when approaching a work zone area.

The City of Yorkton will have a number of adjusted hours of operation on Victoria Day, Monday, May 23.
City Hall
- Closed on Monday, May 23 and will reopen Tuesday, May 24, at 8 a.m.
Public Works

We are currently experiencing high flow volumes to the Water Pollution Control Plant, and we ask for the public's cooperation in diverting sump pump flows outdoors to the storm sewer system and away from the sanitary sewage system.
2022 Bicycle Rodeo Kickoff

The ninth annual Yorkton Bike Rodeo kicks off this week from May 16-20, 2022. Grade three students from all eight elementary schools in Yorkton will have the opportunity learn basic bike safety skills, tune up their bikes and practice on an obstacle course.
The program is a continuation of Bicycle Safety Week and was kicked off at Dr. Brass Elementary school today.
