Yorkton City Council approved the 2022 Operating and 2022/2023 Capital Budgets at last night’s council meeting. The City thanks all residents, organizations and business owners in Yorkton who filled out the online Public Review form or spoke to City Council in the weeks leading up to the budget review.

City Council approves construction of new Deer Park Clubhouse

On January 31, 2022, Yorkton City Council approved the construction of a new Deer Park Clubhouse on the existing site.
The budget, totalling $7.6 million, has been broken down to include the demolition of the existing building, a temporary clubhouse and washroom trailer rental for the duration of the project, as well as consulting, project management and contingency fees.

The City of Yorkton has unveiled its proposed 2022 budget, which includes a tax increase total of $1,235,000 (or 4.86%).
The proposed budget outlines the City’s plan to invest in city assets and infrastructure upgrades, and continue to provide the same level of services to residents as the year prior. A large portion of the budget will also go towards an increase in policing costs, due to a new collective agreement signed between the Federal Government and the RCMP.
