Yorkton residents and business!
The Public Works Department will begin a water main flushing program on Sunday, August 11, at 8 P.M Starting in the south west corner of the city. This is an essential maintenance procedure, to remove the rust and sediment that has accumulated in the water mains.
For about 12 days from 8 P.M to 6 A.M, each evening during the week, our city crews will be hard at work ensuring water distribution system is in top shape for fire fighters, residents, and businesses.
Check the City of Yorkton Facebook page and sign up for our Voyent Alert Notification System to receive notifications of areas to be flushed. You may also call the Public Works Department at 306-786-1760 for information between 7 A.M and 4 P.M, Monday through Friday.
Be Aware! During the flushing, the water will contain a considerable amount of rust and sediment, and may be discoloured for several hours. The system pressure will fluctuate during the flushing period.
