Commemorative Program
You can adopt a park bench or tree in memory of a loved one, to dedicate to a friend or family member, or to commemorate a special event.
Bench Program
Benches are located in parks, on pathways, or elsewhere upon approval from the City. Each bench will be installed upon a concrete pad 5 feet in depth and 8 feet in length.
Option 1 - $250.00
- Commemorations may be installed on existing benches, as long as benches are available.
- One engraved plaque.
Option 2 - $5,000.00
- One powder coated bench.
- Engraved commemoration will be completed on the bench.
Option 3 - $7,000.00
- One concrete and wood bench.
- One engraved plaque.
COMMEMORATION BENCH PROGRAM APPLICATION
Tree Program
Option 1, Logan Green - $250.00
Memorial plaques at the Logan Green Memorial Tree Park shall include:
- Memorial plaque to be installed on existing podium within the Park.
- Located in Logan Green Park, south of the Tupper Street entrance.
- Trees are already established with in the Park. City staff will provide the same care and maintenance other municipal trees receive from the City. The following types of trees are already established:
- Paper Birch
- Ornament Crab Apple
- Linden Little Leaf
- Spruce
- Scotch Pine
Option 2, Deer Park Golf Course - $500.00
The standard for memorial trees located at Deer Park Golf Course will include:
- Recognition on the memorial plaque located inside the Deer Park Clubhouse.
- Location of the tree planting will be at the discretion of the City on a case-by-case basis.
- Memorial Trees will be hardwoods (50-millimetre caliper) and conifers (250-centimetre height).
- The choice of tree species is subject to City approval.
- City staff will provide the same care and maintenance other municipal trees receive from the City.

Park/Facility Improvement
There are two Park/Facility Improvement options available:
- Buy park/facility furniture or equipment
- Assist with the establishment/enhancement of an existing park or facility.
Recognition would be in the form of an engraved plaque. Measurements will be dictated based on the facility or improvement made.
The approval of all park improvements and the respective locations will be at the discretion of the City. Criteria include:
- How will it benefit the community?
- Will it aesthetically improve the space?
- How does the improvement affect the functions and purpose of the space?
- What will the impact be to the operations and the cost to maintain?
- Is the improvement appropriate for the park or facility?
