Fire permits are issued yearly, valid from January 1 to December 31 and are required before lighting a fire. When having an open-air fire, these are the measures that must be met:

Fees
A burn permit costs $20 per calendar year (this price includes tax).
Before you start
Before starting a backyard fire, always check if a Fire Ban is in effect in your area and review our Fire Prevention Bylaw.
Use caution when lighting a fire in any backyard fire pit setting. Failure to follow all guidelines could result in a fine and cancellation of your permit without refund.
