Property Assessment
Assessing is the job of estimating a dollar value of your property for taxation purposes. This helps the City of Yorkton make sure our tax levy is fair.
The Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA) is responsible for assessing the value of all properties in Yorkton.
We do not mail out assessment notices every year. The only time you will receive a notice is if your assessed value has changed from the year before. Want to learn more about your notice? View the Sample Property Assessment Notice for more information.
Receive up-to-date information regarding taxes, assessments and more.
Assessments can be viewed online at any time. If you did not receive an assessment notice, you can use SAMA's online tool to search assessment information on your property.
Do you disagree with your assessment?
The 2024 assessment roll is open from March 27, 2024 to April 29, 2024. This is a review period for you to look at your assessed value and determine if there are any errors in the information used to calculate your assessment. If you feel there is an error you can file an appeal to correct it. The only time of year you can appeal is when the assessment roll is open.
