Holiday Garbage and Recycling schedule for December 26, 2022 to January 2, 2023
This holiday season the City of Yorkton is encouraging residents to practice proper waste disposal. Many items that end up in our landfill during the holiday season can actually be recycled, reducing the amount of unnecessary waste that goes into the landfill each year.

Natural Christmas tree drop off site
Christmas trees can be dropped off at the Gallagher Centre parking lot between December 25, 2022 and January 15, 2023 so they can be chipped and composted or used as mulch.
Reminders
- Live (natural) trees only. Artificial trees should be sold, donated or disposed of at the Landfill.
- Trees should be unwrapped and unbound.
- Remove all decorations, ornaments and plastic bags before dropping off your tree. Even small bits of tinsel or plastic can impact the quality of the wood chips.
- The City will not pick up trees from back lanes, street fronts or garbage and recycling carts.
