Non-beverage glass jars now accepted at SARCAN in Yorkton
Starting today, September 6, you can now recycle your non-beverage glass containers at our Yorkton SARCAN Depot, which is operated by SaskAbilities. This includes containers like:
- Food jars (pickles, condiments, jams/jellies, sauces, peanut butter, salsa, vegetables)
- Food bottles (vinegar, oils)
- Baby juice bottles
- Canning jars (used for home canning)
- Glass storage containers
Containers should be as clean as possible before being dropped off at SARCAN. Lids must be removed and can be recycled separately once placed in a separate bag from the containers.
Recycled glass containers will be used to create reflective beads for highway marking paint or fiberglass insulation. The City of Yorkton is proud to partner with SaskAbilities and SARCAN to responsibly recycle non-beverage glass.
SARCAN is located at 144 Ball Road, Yorkton, Sk.
